Economic Development

The economic development thrust focuses on the well being of the community in the specific areas of financial planning and education, home ownership, money management, investments, employment, and the physical maintaining of public sites.

Two of the many programs that the Sigma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are involved in are: 

Balling on a Budget

This program discussed and informed students on how to be financially savvy. Often, students cannot wait to spend their refund check on items they have wanted for a long time. However, this program showed how and where you can spend wisely while in college.

Home Buying Seminar

This program expanded the minds of students in college as they learned about the importance of buying a home. While renting a property is an option for some, buying a home may be a better investment for some students after college. The ladies of Sigma Chapter shared what they need to know about buying their first home and the key factors to consider.
