Physical and Mental Health
Physical and Mental Health is a thrust whose primary focus is to empower women with knowledge of all aspects of self. The thrust is meant to educate women so that they can remain physically and mentally fit as well as remain abreast on the physical and mental issues that affect their surrounding community and abroad. One of the primary programs that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is active in is the national AIDS walk. HIV/ AIDS being an epidemic, especially in the African American community, makes it a focus for the sorority to promote awareness and aid in its eventual dissolution within the community.

Another program that Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Sigma Chapter has implemented is DSTress. The primary focus of the program is to endorse several different ways to alleviate the stresses on the mind and body and spirits using a multitude of exercises that enhance both of the aforementioned. Physical and mental health is so important because of how far reaching their impacts are. They cross all racial, sociopolitical, and economical boundaries and bring the human race together wholly, which is why it is such a focus of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc. which prides itself with having those same values.
